Tristan Bates Theatre

The Tristan Bates Theatre is a venue for new work and groundbreaking experiments. We see ourselves as "the industry theatre", a meeting-ground at the heart of the business where actors, writers and directors can test new ideas and be daring.

Scheduling over 70 productions including producing 2 in-house productions and 4 co-productions per year, we have many resident companies including Recorded Delivery, OTC, The Factory, Rikki Beadle-Blair (Team Angelica), Daniel Kramer, Che Walker and Matthew Dunster. We also produce the flagship Ignition project for new writing, and regular Midnight Matinees on the third Saturday of every month, where artists explore the full potential of what is possible on a stage, and audiences enjoy an eclectic bill and a late-night bar
