Barcelona, a new play written by Bess Wohl and directed by Lynette Linton, begins its 12-week run at the Duke of York's Theatre in London. The production marks the highly anticipated West End debuts of Lily Collins, known for her role in Emily in Paris, and Álvaro Morte, famed for his part in Money Heist.
The play tells the story of an American tourist who finds herself in a precarious situation after going home with a charming Spaniard. What starts as an exciting encounter soon takes a darker turn, keeping audiences on edge throughout the performance.
The creative team behind Barcelona is filled with talented professionals. Set and costume design is by Frankie Bradshaw, with lighting by Jai Morjaria and sound design by Duramaney Kamara and Xana. The production also features video design by Gino Ricardo Green, and wigs, hair, and makeup by Cynthia De La Rosa. UK casting was handled by Heather Basten, while Jim Carnahan took care of the US casting.
Movement direction and intimacy choreography were led by Shelley Maxwell, with vocal coaching by Hazel Holder. The team also includes dramatherapy by Wabriya King and associate direction by Katie Greenall.
Produced by ATG Productions, Bad Robot Live, and Gavin Kalin Productions, Barcelona will run until 11 January 2025.
