In an eagerly anticipated West End debut, Tony winner Stephanie J. Block is set to grace the stage in a new revival of "Kiss Me, Kate," under the direction of Bartlett Sher. The celebrated actress will take on the dual role of Lilli Vanessi/Katharine, bringing her unparalleled talent to the iconic production.
Sharing the spotlight with Block is Irish actor Adrian Dunbar, known for his role in "Line of Duty," who will portray Fred Graham/Petruchio. The duo will be supported by a dynamic cast of 50, yet to be announced, accompanied by a full orchestra to enhance the musical experience.
Bartlett Sher, known for his visionary direction, assembles a stellar production team for this revival, featuring regular collaborators Michael Yeargan (sets), Catherine Zuber (costumes), Donald Holder (lighting), and Adam Fisher (sound design). Choreographer Anthony Van Laast and music supervisor Stephen Ridley round out the creative ensemble.
"Kiss Me, Kate," enriched with Cole Porter's timeless score, including classics like "Brush Up Your Shakespeare" and "Too Darn Hot," promises a captivating theater experience. The production is scheduled to run at the Barbican Theatre from June 4 to September 14, offering audiences a chance to revel in the magic of this Broadway classic brought to life in the heart of London's West End.
