A thrilling new theatrical production is on the horizon for the West End, where the talented playwright Jez Butterworth and the renowned director Sam Mendes will reunite for an exciting world premiere. Their latest collaborative venture, "The Hills of California," is all set to grace London's Harold Pinter Theatre for a limited season, running from 27th January to 15th June.
This creative partnership follows their previous successful collaboration on "The Ferryman," which took the Royal Court Theatre by storm in 2017, becoming the fastest-selling play in the venue's history.
"The Hills of California" unfolds its narrative in a Blackpool guesthouse during the year 1976, where it delves into the lives of two sisters as they return to their ailing mother. The production boasts an impressive team of artists, including Rob Howell as the designer, Natasha Chivers in charge of lighting, Nick Powell responsible for sound design, Ellen Kane as the choreographer, and Candida Caldicot overseeing musical supervision. The casting details for the play are yet to be disclosed.
This eagerly anticipated theatrical collaboration promises to be a one-of-a-kind masterpiece, so mark your calendars!
