Full cast and creative team has been announced for the upcoming production of Robin Hood: The Legend. Re-written.
The adaptation will run at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre from 17 June to 22 July, with an opening night on 23 June.
The story is set in a divided kingdom and promises “humour, heart and a forest full of secrets, expect the arrows to fly in a bold new direction as trickery and truth collide with fiery results”.
It is a thrilling folk tale for contemporary times, told with epic storytelling and stirring songs in the ancient, wooded heart of Regent’s Park.
The cast will include:
Charlotte Beaumont as Little Joan, Nandi Bhebhe as The Balladeer/Jenny, Stephanie Marion Fayerman as Betty, Dave Fishley as Bob Much, Samuel Gosrani as as Will Scatlocke, TJ Holmes as Brasswilt/Robin Hood, Paul Hunter as The King, Katherine Manners as Simpkins, Shaun Yusuf McKee as Brokebrick/Robin Hood, Alex Mugnaioni as Baldwyn, Simon Oskarsson as Boneweather/Robin Hood, Ellen Robertson as Marian, Dumile Sibanda as Woodnut, Ira Mandela Siobhan as Gisburne, Elexi Walker as Mary Tuck, and musicians Amena Alicia El-Kindy, Taya Ming, and Marta Miranda.
The creative team consists of Melly Still as director, Chiara Stephenson as set designer, Samuel Wyer as costume designer, Zoe Spurr as lighting designer, and Emma Laxton as sound designer.
Joining them will be Mike Ashcroft as movement director, John Bulleid as illusion designer, Joley Cragg as musical director, Poppy Franziska as associate director, Polly Jerrold as casting director, Ingrid Mackinnon as season intimacy coordinator, Jenny Moore as composer and musical supervisor, Jeannette Nelson as voice and text director, and Deirdre O’Halloran as dramaturg.
The play is written by previous Kneehigh Co-Artistic Director Carl Grose, the author of The Grinning Man.
