Queen musical that first premiered 20 years ago at the Dominion Theatre, We Will Rock You, has revealed full cast for its West End revival at the London Coliseum.
We Will Rock You was so far seen by 17 million people across 28 countries, and will play to its biggest audience yet at the same iconic stage at the London Coliseum known for Freddie Mercury’s Royal Ballet performance in 1979.
The musical spectacle is set in a futuristic context and follows a group of free-spirited bohemians as they protest against a global conglomerate on Planet Mall.
The show will run from 2 June to 27 August 2023 and feature Queen’s greatest hits including “We Are The Champions” and “Radio Ga Ga”.
Writer and director Ben Elton will make his acting West End debut in the musical as The Rebel Leader.
Elton commented:
“I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the incredible London Coliseum cast in the role of The Rebel Leader. The character is a massive Queen fan, rock tragic and general old fart who still plays air guitar to his bedroom mirror – so basically I’m perfect for the role! My ambition is to nail all the laughs and not mess up my song.”
Previously revealed lead cast includes:
Brenda Edwards as Killer Queen, Ian McIntosh as Galileo Figaro, Lee Mead as Khashoggi, and Elena Skye as Scaramouche.
The cast will be completed by:
Christine Allado, Adrian Hansel, Jenny O’Leary, Glenn Adamson, Laura Ava-Scott, Esme Bacalla-Hayes, Liam Buckland, David Burilin, Victoria Collins, Isaac Edwards, Lucy Glover, Leanne Garretty, Ryesha Higgs, Ellis Linford-Pill, David McIntosh, Shak Mancel James, Danny Nattrass, Jarryd Nurden, Sam Robinson, Madison Swan, Karen Walker and Rebecca Wickes.
More than two decades after it all began, the world's favourite rock theatrical returns home again!
