Matilda The Musical Extends West End Run Through December 2023

Matilda the Musical, currently in its 11th year at West End and a winner of 99 international awards, extends its run at the Cambridge Theatre to 17 December 2023.
Adapted from the inspirational children's novel of the same name by Roald Dahl, Matilda The Musical is a multi-award-winning musical masterpiece from the Royal Shakespeare Company that continues to entertain audiences in the West End and across the world.
Aside from winning the Olivier award for Best New Musical in 2012, the four young actresses who shared the title role were given the collective award for Best Actress in a Musical. In total, the show won seven Olivier Awards, making it the biggest overall win of any London musical!
It tells the story of an extraordinary and determined child heroine equipped with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind as she saves the day at her school, Crunchem Hall.
Matilda West End cast of incredible performers consists of:
Victoria Alsina, Laurel Sumberg, and Heidi Williams, all joining Maisie Mardle in the lead role of Matilda, Lauren Byrne as Miss Honey, Landi Oshinowo as Mrs. Phelps, Elliot Harper as Miss Trunchbull, and Rakesh Boury and Amy Ellen Richardson as Mr. and Mrs. Wormwood.
The musical is written by scriptwriter Dennis Kelly (DNA) and based on Roald Dahl’s novel, original songs are written by musician and comedian Tim Minchin (Groundhog Day The Musical), and the show is staged by theatre, opera, and film director Matthew Warchus (God of Carnage).
Scene design is signed by Rob Howell, choreography by Peter Darling, light design by Hugh Vanstone, and sound design by Simon Baker.

A new film adaptation of Matilda, based on the stage adaptation playing in the West End, will be released in 2022.
